Right, I’ve decided to start a video blog. Each week I will interview a consumer, who doesn’t work in advertising, marketing or PR, and ask them questions about their usage, likes and dislikes when…

Hi all, I trust you had nice Christmas breaks. I may have been the only person that didn’t know this, in which case this could be embarrassing, but I just learnt that the word video is from the Lat…

One thing I'd be interested to know is peoples' view surrounding frequency. It's always a bit of a sketchy area, but in terms of online video it could be good to ask how many times it takes before a video sticks in their head (obviously this depends…

Thanks Mike, continues to be insightful. Pete was clearly not into his tech as the last two, and interesting to hear that he was willing to consume mobile media, but that it needed to be easier/more straightforward to access, otherwise he'd just wai…

I think that product placement can be used very well by certain brands and content producers. Of course there is a danger that certain commercial entities realise that there is money to be made and over-egg the pudding. This could damage the market…

A few months old now, but I love this T-Mobile TV ad and viral video ... a great example of entertaining video, making a single point very clearly.

Liked the second one too. Interesting to hear she was focused on short form video with her viewing - despite being a heavy digital user, TV watching is still primarily done on the TV. I think with so much focus on VOD and the innovation there right…

Thanks for the feedback, JP, I'm glad you found it interesting. I'm sure I have seen research to procve that consumers watch programmes, not channels, but I'd be happy to include the question from now on to find out. Please let me know if you think…

A great initiative Mike. Watched the interview with Anna too. Interesting that viral/word of mouth comes into play when it comes to choosing what VOD to watch. It might be interesting to find out how much consumers follow branded channels such as 4O…

There is a new interview live here -> http://miketeevee.wordpress.com/2010/01/16/consumer-interview-video-usage-2/ Would like some feedback on how they could be improved.

Thanks Jonathan, glad you liked it! My strengths don't really lie in research though, and I think that if I am going to make more of these they need to be of use/interest to the wide video community, so I need feedback on questions that people woul…

Branded content in the 'age of the screen'

Here's my first post on my brand new blog on video advertising. Follow by new blog here: http://miketeevee.wordpress.com/

2010 promises to be a very big year for both online video and mobile, and the pace at which this year has started in terms of workload is certainly in line with that promise.

We’re making lots of really positive changes to our online video at the Telegraph, which includes far larger video player sizes and creating video article… Continue
